Game development · Survival / construction / exploration

A world built from the ground up.

Build a life on a planet—or work towards a place among the stars. Star Matrix is an 8-bit-inspired multiplayer universe in development.

Current stage: local shared sandbox

The ambition spans forests, oceans, industry and space. The executable today is deliberately smaller: a town blockout and a shared patch where players can mine, build and preserve their changes.

Rendered prototype town with four simple buildings, trees, a brown mining patch and a distant player avatar.
Actual prototype render, 6 September 2026. Placeholder materials and geometry; not the planned forest hill town or finished art. The capture excludes the game interface.

The objective

Create a shared, persistent Milky Way where survival, crafting, research, production and trade support many ways to live. A player may mine and build on one world, operate an underwater laboratory, crew a vessel or pursue fleet and territorial command. Galactic empire-building is optional.

The hard problem is joining those scales without confusing an expansive concept with a delivered game. Development starts with shared actions and resource persistence before adding the visual and systems complexity.

From concept to evidence

Met

Shared sandbox foundation

Walking, mining, block placement, a basic inventory and saved terrain are implemented in a bounded Unity prototype.

Planned

A representative playable slice

Forest hill town, original textures, sound and a small crafting/survival loop precede the campaign demonstration.

Kickstarter: 9 March 2027

A proposed funding milestone, dependent on playable evidence, costs, readiness review and approval—not a finished-game release date.

Briana’s role

Briana originates and directs the game concept, chooses scope and trade-offs, approves recommendations and supplies hands-on feedback. Adara assists with implementation, documentation and repeatable checks. Automated results do not substitute for Briana’s acceptance or an independent review.

The 64-player regional goal is a design target, not demonstrated capacity. Public hosting, secure accounts, galaxy streaming, vehicles and the wider simulation are not implemented by this first slice.
