Campaign and AI crew
Test the world.
Protect the save.
Run this checklist for each affected component; repeat relevant checks for any optional variant under test. Use a disposable campaign and a new editor file; never overwrite a valued submarine during prototype testing.
What has—and has not—been checked.
Local Windows testing targets Barotrauma 1.13.4.0. Briana has confirmed live medical injury colours, tooltips and access during play. That does not establish support for every resolution, campaign state or multiplayer setup.
Linux, macOS and multiplayer remain runtime-unverified. Scripted features require LuaCsForBarotrauma client-side C# support; check its current setup instructions.
New wall cladding is at editor-trial stage. The helm and completed Brass Nautilus are not part of the current public beta. Check the Workshop listing for the released package’s boundaries.
Medical & new cladding
- Switch between valid patients; compare injury regions, severity changes and tooltips. Open native treatment and confirm normal item use and game restrictions still apply.
- Check medical close/reopen, invalid targets and display scaling; do not invent readings the game does not expose.
- For new cladding, test attach/detach, wrench use, carrying, layering, hatch and ladder clearance, purchase and save/reload.
- For the Nautilus, explicitly retest bot routes and hatches before any campaign-readiness claim.
Package and editor
- Close the game before copying or replacing LocalMods files.
- Enable the test package after Vanilla and confirm there are no missing-texture, duplicate-prefab or source-rectangle errors.
- Place or equip every affected variant; resize, animate or operate it wherever applicable.
- Save to a new test file, reload it, and confirm the replacement persists.
Disposable campaign
- Load or start a disposable campaign containing the affected asset family.
- Use, equip, move, drop, repair, operate or traverse the asset as its vanilla counterpart allows.
- Save, exit and reload; confirm state, placement, inventory and appearance remain intact.
- Confirm doors, devices, hulls, waypoints and characters have not moved unexpectedly.
AI crew behaviour
- Give a bot repair, operate, follow and wait orders around the replaced assets.
- Confirm ordinary pathing through doors, ladders, platforms and room waypoints.
- For wearable items, confirm bots equip them without warnings and can still interact and use tools.
- Where relevant, confirm treatment and rescue AI still recognises an injured character.
If something fails
Stop before using a valued campaign. Record the game version, enabled-package order, exact error text, affected treatment, reproduction steps and whether the failure also occurs with the prototype disabled.
